As part of the Donate For Mental Health EP, DJ Psychiatre’s latest release is a well thought-out piece of house, for an extremely well-meaning cause; as the French DJ says: “all funds are going to be donated to France Depression, an association about information and help for people suffering from Depression or Bipolar Disorder”. ‘Prepare For Take-off’ itself is built on pulsating pads and a bold, consistent hi-hat pattern which allows filters to take melodies into various different directions based on the smallest developments, while acid basslines subtly manifest themselves within the texture. -Dan Peeke
